Born in India, Sonia shifted to Canada at a young age. She completed her graduation in Mechanical Engineering from Kettering University and post-graduation in Manufacturing Systems Engineering from Stanford University in the US.

Sonia joined the GAP company in 2004 and worked as a Managing Director, Senior Vice President, and Executive Vice President for a period of time.

The sales of GAP's largest brand Old Navy to $8B from $7B under Sonia’s leadership. Also, she worked to expand the brand's presence in North American stores.

Before joining Gap, Sonia was a part of Fortune 500 product companies and served 10 years at Sun Microsystems and 6 years at Ford Motor Company.
