- The new reality show "Vanderpump Villa" centers on staff at a château in the French countryside.
- Château Rosabelle is a pop-up luxury travel experience run by Lisa Vanderpump.
If you're tuning into Hulu's "Vanderpump Villa," the latest reality show centered on one of Lisa Vanderpump's businesses, you know there's no shortage of drama among the beautiful and chaotic staff at Château Rosabelle.
But if you're more interested in the vicarious thrill of watching wealthy people have one-of-a-kind luxury travel experiences, well, good news: There's plenty of that, too.
As Business Insider previously reported, "Vanderpump Villa" isn't just a remixed version of "Vanderpump Rules," which has followed the personal lives of the staff at Vanderpump's West Hollywood restaurant SUR since 2013. Vanderpump herself broke down the difference in a recent interview with BI, pointing to the fact that "Villa" focuses more on "the beauty of the château and the whole experience — the flowers, the food… the kitchen."
Sure enough, the château is stunning and evokes travel goals for anyone who may be sitting at their desk while daydreaming about sipping on a themed cocktail in the south of France instead. But although Vanderpump's Château Rosabelle is billed as a one-off pop-up hotel experience that only ran for several months in 2023 when "Vanderpump Villa" was filmed, you can actually stay there yourself for a surprisingly affordable price.
Here's a closer look at the château and what to know about booking a stay there.
Château Rosabelle is arguably the real star of "Vanderpump Villa," but it doesn't actually belong to Vanderpump.

As Vanderpump explains in the first episode of the show, Château Rosabelle is a temporary pop-up hotel housed inside an existing property. During a tour of the villa, she told Architectural Digest that she picked it out for her latest venture because of its "majestic presence."
"When I first found this château, one of the first things that really excited me about it was the height of the ceilings," Vanderpump told AD. "That was so essential to me. To have the right kind of atmosphere. Big windows, lots of natural light."
In real life, the property is called Château Saint-Joseph.

Vanderpump told AD that she and production designer James McGowan worked together to transform the majestic home, which was built in the late 19th century, in only three weeks. They changed the color of the walls to a soft pink and added glamorous decor throughout, like mirrored consoles and even a chandelier brought over from one of her other restaurants, TomTom.
Château St. Joseph is located near Carcassonne, a medieval city about 50 miles southeast of Toulouse.

The castle is located in Mazerolles-du-Razès, a small town in the Occitanie region of France.
According to the property's website, the château is owned by Delphine and Frédéric Roubieu, a married couple with five kids. Originally called Château de Caulet, they bought it in 2019 and changed the name to Château Saint-Joseph.
It operates as a luxurious venue for weddings and other events.

Delphine Roubieu tells BI via email that they specialize in destination weddings and other events.
"Usually, we privatize Château Saint-Joseph for a few days for our guests for their event and we fully cater for them with a local chef and a two-star Michelin chef," she says.
Having an event at the château will start at just under $27,000.

Renting out the entire property for a bespoke experience with up to 60 guests starts at €25 000 (about $26,886) — excluding accommodation, which are paid separately — according to Roubieu.
But the property isn't only available for events.

In the summer months, Château Saint-Joseph is available for hotel-style stays where anyone can book a chambre (single room), a suite, or a gîte (a multiple-bedroom cottage on the property).
There are three gîte to choose from that can each accommodate a larger group. The biggest is the St. Elisabeth gîte.

The six-bedroom St. Elisabeth gîte is 172 square meters (about 1,851 square feet) and can comfortably fit up to 15 people. It has three triple bedrooms, three double bedrooms, and three bathrooms, with a total of five king-size beds and five single beds throughout. There's also a separate living room, laundry room, and kitchen with a full oven, refrigerator, and dishwasher.
Rates start at €1,069 per night (about $1,150).
The St. Anne gîte can house 12 people.

The second-largest space at 120 square meters (about 1,291 square feet) is the St. Anne gîte, which has four bedrooms with a total of 12 beds. It also has a separate living area and kitchen.
It costs €799 a night, or about $859.
The third is the St. Philomène gîte.

The three-bedroom St. Philomène gîte spans 100 square meters (about 1,076 square feet) and can comfortably accommodate six to eight people with two single beds, one double bed, one king-sized bed, and one sofa bed.
Prices start at €399 (or about $429) per night.
There are 12 other smaller rooms and suites to choose from, ranging in size and price.

Each of the rooms has a unique name, like Chambre Marie-Antoinette and Chambre Albanne (named for the owners' son). Many of the rooms were renamed by Vanderpump during the time it was rebranded as Château Rosabelle for her guests' stays.
The most expensive is the Chambre toile de Jouy, which has a gold bathtub and views of a park.

The 28 square meter (301 square foot) room, with a king-sized bed, black marble fireplace, and toile de jouy tapestry, costs €359 (or about $386) per night.
But let's be serious, the real draw is that bathtub. I mean, come on.
But the cheapest room, the Chambre Gisèle, is under $200 a night.

The small room, located on the second floor of the castle, is 21 square meters (or about 226 square feet). It has a single-size bed and is outfitted in vintage floral wallpaper with an adjoining bathroom featuring a tub.
It costs €129 (or about $139) a night.
