Private airline company K9 Jets is offering pet-friendly flights on board a private jet.

Seats on the private plane cost $8,925 or $10,985 each, depending on the route. The price includes the seat, taxes, snacks, and a complimentary bar. Passengers can buy a separate seat for their pet for no extra fee.

The airline is offering flights from New York, Lisbon, and London.

Most airlines only allow pets that can fit in a crate placed under the seat in front of a passenger, as Insider's Taylor Rains reported in November. On those airlines, larger pets are typically left in cargo holds during long-haul flights.

On K9 Jets, dogs are not required to be in cages or carriers on board the flights and can sit on passengers' laps or by their side, according to K9 Jet's website. Cats must be placed in a carrier, however.

Passengers looking to book one of the airline's private flights can register their interest via the company's website. The airline said it would suggest a flight listing for passengers and notify them when seats are released on presale.

Last summer there were multiple incidents of animals being lost amid a chaotic season for the aviation industry.

In July, an Air Canada passenger was separated from his two cats for more than 15 hours after they were sent from Toronto to San Francisco without him.
