A Swiss train has set a new world record for the longest passenger train.
The train was made up of 25 new railcars and stretched more than 1.2 miles.

To celebrate the 175th anniversary of Switzerland's first railway, Rhaetian Railway, a Swiss transport company, has set a world record for the longest passenger train.

The record-breaking train was formed of 25 new "Capricorn" electric trains and 100 cars stretching more than 1.2 miles.

The train traveled through a UNESCO World Heritage route from Preda to Alvaneu in south-eastern Switzerland. The scenic route included passing through the Albula Tunnel in Preda and the Landwasser Viaduct near Filisur.

The route included 22 tunnels, 48 bridges, and numerous steep inclines and turns.

The train was operated by seven drivers, with 21 technicians also working to ensure the journey was safe. Thousands of people lined the route or waited at stations to watch the record-setting journey.
