What royals have worn to the BAFTAs through the years

Princess Anne presented an award at the 1971 Society of Film and Television Arts Awards, which were renamed the BAFTAs in 1976.
In 1971, Princess Anne presented comedians Eric Morecambe and Ernie Wise with the award for best light entertainment program for "The Morecambe and Wise Show." She wore a collared dress with a white belt and choker necklace.

At the 2018 BAFTAs, celebrities wore black in support of the Time's Up movement, but Kate Middleton opted for a dark green dress, likely because members of the royal family are supposed to remain politically neutral. Some thought the black sash was her subtle way of showing solidarity with the anti-sexism and anti-harassment movement.
Middleton returned to Alexander McQueen for the 2019 BAFTAs with a one-shoulder white dress.
Middleton also wore diamond and pearl drop earrings that belonged to Princess Diana. Diana had worn the earrings to a gala at Bridgewater House in 1995.
In 2020, Middleton rewore a gold-and-white Alexander McQueen dress that she previously wore to a state dinner in Malaysia in 2012.
