We're looking for the rising stars of the electric-vehicle industry — here's how to nominate yourself or someone you know

Insider is seeking nominations for its 2022 list of the rising stars in the electric vehicle industry.

From electric vehicles to batteries to charging, recycling, and so much more, the EV business is heating up. With every billion-dollar investment, partnership, and new model announcement, the industry is going electric at an increasingly rapid clip.

To keep pace, legacy automakers and startups alike are relying on a new wave of talent to carry them into the future, talent that can tackle the biggest challenges as it relates to range and battery chemistry. It also needs talent that can create new business opportunities, solve for unique commercial EV needs, and prepare the industry for the anticipated uptick in consumer demand.

These are folks that are up-and-coming at their companies, making a difference in the industry, and who could eventually follow in the footsteps of the likes of Elon Musk, Mary Barra, Peter Rawlinson, and RJ Scaringe.

These are our criteria:

  • Nominees must be 35 years of age or younger as of March 31, 2022.
  • Nominees must currently work for a company that's developing technology for electric vehicles.
  • Nominations must be submitted via this Google Form by 5 p.m. ET on May 9.
  • Tell us why you or someone you know is on the path to becoming a leader in this white-hot space.
  • If you want to nominate multiple rising stars, fill out a separate form for each person.
  • A max of three nominations per company media relations or PR team, please.
  • No more than two nominees per company will be selected.
  • Insider cannot guarantee every company that nominates a rising star will be recognized.

Insider expects to publish this list the week of May 16, 2022. Companies who have rising stars that will be recognized will be notified ahead of time.

*Note, this nomination list differs from that for Power Players in the electric vehicle industry. Insider will release the nomination form for the next round of EV Power Players in May 2022.
