Victoria Beckham's wedding dress did a lot of travel before the Spice Girl wore it, according to designer Vera Wang.

Wang, 74, spoke to People about some of the most iconic wedding dresses she's designed, including the ball gown Victoria wore to marry David Beckham in 1999.

The pop star and soccer phenom got married at Luttrellstown Castle in Dublin, Ireland, with only 29 guests at the ceremony and over 200 at their reception, Insider previously reported.

Wang designed the dress Victoria wore to the intimate ceremony, which featured a corset-style bodice and a full skirt, complete with a 20-foot train, as Victoria told British Vogue in 2018.

"I call it the transatlantic dress," Wang told People of Victoria's gown, as the bodice was worked on in both New York and London.

Wang went on to say that the gown's lining was designed by Mister Pearl, who specializes in waist-cinching corsets. He designed the corset that went into the extremely form-fitting Thierry Mugler dress Kim Kardashian wore to the 2019 Met Gala.

"He makes corsets that have to be pulled [in] with these metal things, which is how corsets were done in the old days," Wang told People of Pearl's corsets. "It takes about 45 minutes to lace up, and it can take your waist down to literally 18 inches like Scarlett O'Hara."

Pearl only works out of London, while Wang was based in New York at the time, so the corset was flown "back and forth four times on the Concorde," as Wang told People. She also told the outlet that she went to London to work on the corset bodice, and Victoria flew to New York twice for fittings.

The Beckhams first announced their engagement in January 1998, but they waited to get married until July 1999, after their first son Brooklyn was born.

The custom Vera Wang gown wasn't the only memorable fashion moment Victoria had at her wedding.

Victoria and David — and Brooklyn — changed into coordinating purple ensembles for their reception.

Victoria's dress had one sleeve made of flowers, matching the floral pin David wore on his suit. The pair reflected on the looks in their Netflix docuseries "Beckham," with David poking fun at the outfits.

"I think I just took Victoria's lead on it," he said of why they decided to wear the nontraditional outfits. "But what were we thinking?"

Victoria said in the docuseries that she didn't regret the outfit choice, though.

"But it was fun," she said. "We weren't worried about what people would say. I mean, Christ, how lovely to be that way when you just really don't care."
