He's kept prices at $389 per night for four years, opting not to raise them despite his waiting list. He told Insider he wants people to leave their stay saying, "That was totally worth it. I waited two years, and it was worth it."

Bahouth had a treehouse as a child and had the idea of building another one on his neighboring property as an adult.

The treehouse consists of three separate rooms — a sitting room, bedroom, and deck — known as the “mind, body, and spirit” that are all connected with rope bridges.
Alex Martinez
The treehouse is just minutes from downtown Atlanta.

The space has also hosted small events like Girl Scout ceremonies and micro weddings.

When the rope bridges had to be replaced, Bahouth asked a guest who lives abroad to bring some over, as it was difficult to get them during COVID-19.

The sitting room, known as the “mind,” is the first room, outfitted with antique furnishings and artifacts.
Alex Martinez
Bahouth prepares for his guests with welcoming amenities like fresh flowers and wine.

Unique artifacts in the sitting room include fossils and a plaster cast of a Siberian Tiger paw.

The bedroom, known as the “body,” sleeps two people and includes high-quality linens and rustic décor.

The roll-out bed can be positioned inside or outside.

The roll-out bed was inspired by Bahouth’s love of sleeping outdoors.

The treehouse was featured by the home décor company Parachute and is now outfitted with Parachute linens.

Bahouth closes for four months out of the year to do maintenance, such as repainting the bedroom's white floors. During renting months, guests can use fans in the summer, and the mattress has a bed warmer for colder nights.

The tin roof offers shelter and relaxing sounds on nights with rain. A view of the hammock deck can be seen from the bedroom.

The bedroom includes a small desk for guests.

The deck, known as the “spirit,” is the third part of the treehouse.
Alex Martinez
The deck surrounds a tree known as the "Old Man," a more than 100-year-old Southern Short-Leaf Pine Tree, which is the largest of the trees supporting the treehouse.
Sarah Dorio
It's one of the seven trees that support the treehouse.
Alex Martinez
When Bahouth meets his guests, he first introduces them to the "Old Man" tree before giving a tour of the rest of the property.
Sarah Dorio
During the pandemic, Bahouth decided to put lights around the "Old Man," with each bulb representing 1,000 people who died of COVID-19.
Alex Martinez
Bahouth once made a joke about the old tree while sitting on the deck, saying, "I'm going to turn him into a table and we'll be able to put our drinks here and see each other." The next day, another tree fell inches from the house. Bahouth said he doesn't make that joke anymore.
Alex Martinez
Guests also have a view of two waterfalls hidden near the treehouse.

In addition to the treehouse, guests have parking at the host's home and exclusive access to the lower floor of the main house, which includes a private indoor bathroom and shower.

Visitors share reviews and even occasionally leave drawings for Bahouth — sharing the impact the three tree houses have had on them.
Peter Bahouth
With nearly 500 reviews and a 4.95-star rating, the two-year wait seems worth it for many guests.
