This $220 sweatsuit is the best investment I've made as a working mom. I can do school drop-off without having to get fully dressed.

  • I'm a working mom of three kids who go to different schools.
  • Our mornings can be chaotic and I've tried optimizing everything as much as I can.

I'm not a morning person. I never have been. But anyone who has little kids knows that waking up early is not optional.

That's even truer if you have kids who go to school. My oldest is in kindergarten and my two youngest are in preschool, and all of them have to be dropped off by 8:30 am — which is so early.

I used to struggle to get ready in the morning when it was my turn to do drop offs because I never knew what to wear, or would spend precious minutes trying to put together an outfit.

That all changed when I decided to invest in a cute sweatsuit.

The sweatsuit is $220 and I wear it all the time

I'm not a sweatpant person. Even during the height of the pandemic, when I was postpartum with twins, I would wear "outside" clothes like jeans or dresses. They made me feel put together, and that affected my outlook on the day.

So I started looking for an outfit that would make me feel put together while at the same time being easy to wear throughout the cold mornings and changing seasons in Maine.

I found this Pitusa set, which comes in eight different colors, while browsing Instagram. I had always wanted something from the brand, but their clothes come with a high price tag. But I thought since this was a two-piece, it would give me more bang for my buck, and so I clicked "purchase" and went on with my day.

I'm obsessed with my Pitusa sweatsuit

I got the lavender color set that has an accent of red on the sleeves. The cotton is super soft and light, and the look is relaxed — which I strive to be in the mornings rushing out the door.

I can wear the sweatsuit with sneakers or rain boots, and as the days get colder, I can easily throw a jacket on top. Because of the relaxed look, I can wear anything underneath, like a tee or a tank top. I've gotten lots of compliments from other moms at school, and I'm always happy to share my secret.

Taking 60 seconds to get dressed has drastically changed my morning for the better.

After the chaos of drop-off is over, I run back home to take a shower and properly get dressed for the workday, which means I don't need to wash the set often because I'm only wearing it for an hour in the mornings.

I'm tempted to get another set in a different color, but worry that I might just end up wearing the sweatsuits all day, every day.
