The union minister of Housing and Urban Affairs, Hardeep Singh Puri, released the rankings of the Ease of Living Index (EoLI) for 2020 on March 4.
The index ranked participating cities, across India, based on the quality of life, economic ability of a city, and sustainability, spanning 13 categories like education, health, housing and shelter.
The rankings were announced for cities with a population of more than a million and cities with less than a million people. 111 cities participated in the assessment exercise that was conducted in 2020.
