Consumer Reports recently released its annual ranking of the most and least reliable car models and brands — all to help buyers have a hassle-free ownership experience.

The nonprofit outlet asked its members about 17 trouble spots — from fading paint to faulty transmissions — and ranked the five most and least reliable new cars.

Overall, it found that pickup trucks and electric cars are the least reliable vehicle types. Hybrids fared the best.
