- Madelaine Brockway catapulted to viral fame for hosting a lavish wedding pegged at $59 million.
- Reports subsequently emerged that Brockway's husband was charged with firing a gun at police in March.
Last month, Texas bride Madelaine Brockway seemingly emerged out of nowhere to dominate social media after her lavish, multi-day ceremony was called the "wedding of the century" by TikTokers.
Now, amid reports emerging of her husband's criminal past, Brockway has deleted her TikTok account and made her Instagram private.
Brockway, the daughter of a car dealership tycoon, went massively viral for her multi-day wedding to groom Jacob LaGrone on November 18, with several outlets pegging the price tag of the event at $59 million. (The couple's registry, which supposedly included a $12,500 butterfly house and a $2,850 bobcat figurine, also raised eyebrows.)
Event company The Lake Como Wedding Planner, which coordinated the wedding, noted on Instagram that festivities included a four-day bachelorette party at the five-star Amangiri resort in Utah, followed by a voyage to France for a welcome dinner at the Paris Opera. Brockway's luxury event coordinator, Olivia Burrows Sutherland, captured behind-the-scenes glimpses on TikTok.

The wedding itself took place at Chateau de Villette, per The Lake Como Wedding Planner, located just outside of Paris. The bride walked down the aisle in custom Dior, and the couple had their first dance to a live performance of Maroon 5's "She Will Be Loved," with lead singer Adam Levine in attendance.
But in recent days, legal woes faced by Brockway's husband, LaGrone, have dominated headlines. In March, LaGrone was indicted for firing a gun at police officers, reports The Washington Post. If convicted, he could face between less than five years in prison to a life sentence.
When reached, the city of Westworth Village, Texas, provided Business Insider with a statement from November 30 that said that police received multiple disturbance calls to a home address on March 14. Three officers arrived on the scene, "at which time they were fired upon," per the statement, and LaGrone was thereby charged with Aggravated Assault against a Public Servant.
According to the Post, LaGrone was offered a plea bargain of 25 years in prison in August. He was in court on Thursday for a motion hearing.
Brockway did not immediately respond to Insider's request for comment. Rhett Parham, LaGrone's lawyer, also did not immediately respond to a request for comment. A communications officer for the Tarrant County District Attorney's office declined to comment on a pending case.
