- Over 700 "centi-millionaires" live in Miami and The Hamptons during peak holiday months.
- That's according to Henley & Partners' latest report measuring the world's wealthiest cities.
During peak holiday months, coastal and mountain towns around the world are flooded with hundreds of wealthy residents who own second homes.
There's no better example than The Hamptons, a collection of seaside villages popular among affluent New Yorkers.
Year-round, the community is home to 25 residents worth more than $100 million each. Come summertime, that number skyrockets to over 700, according to the latest wealth report from London-based consulting firm Henley & Partners.
In its report, the consulting firm also found that there are now 9,630 "centi-millionaires" living in the United States.
Using data from global intelligence firm New World Wealth, the report ranks 27 seasonal hotspots worldwide with the most "centi-millionaire" residents, defined as individuals with investable wealth of $100 million or more.
The data compares the number of primary residents to seasonal homeowners during peak holiday months, which varies by location.
From beach towns in California and Portugal to mountain retreats in Switzerland and Colorado, these are the world's top 27 seasonal destinations where millionaires are snapping up second homes.
