Car search engine and automotive research firm iSeeCars.com has created a list of the 20 longest-lasting SUVs most likely to reach over 200,000 miles.
Half of the list is comprised of SUVs made by Japanese automakers, including vehicles from Toyota, Honda, Acura, and Nissan. Of the 20 cars, Toyota makes a five-times appearance.
According to the study, about 15.7% of Toyota Land Cruisers in the study made it past 200,000 miles, placing it at the top of the compilation. To compare, an average of 0.9% SUVs during that period logged over 200,000 miles.
The search engine used data from over 15.8 million cars sold in 2019 that were previously owned for the study that also included trucks, sedans, and electric vehicles, to name a few segments. iSeeCars then determined the percentage of cars that had logged at least 200,000 miles. Vehicles that didn't have a 2020 model year production, or are considered heavy-duty or low-volume, were not included in the final list.
