The busy summer travel season has always had the potential to be troublesome for airports and airlines. This summer, as global airline capacity is almost back to pre-pandemic levels, is no different.

Forbes Advisor, a financial advisor platform, analyzed data from 100 US airports to compile a list of the 10 worst airports for summer travel based on on-time arrival performance and airfare price.

The report gives the airports up to 100 points based on 10 metrics, including delays of different kinds, cancellations, diverted flights, and airfare costs, with delays carrying the most weight. The higher the score, the worse the performance.

Florida, which is prone to thunderstorm weather, has three of the top five worst airports for summer travel. Lihue Airport in Hawaii, on the other hand, has been ranked the best one.
