Take a look at all the outfits Miss Nicaragua wore during the Miss Universe 2023 pageant

  • The 72nd Miss Universe pageant took place in El Salvador on Saturday.
  • Sheynnis Palacios of Nicaragua won the crown.

Miss Nicaragua Sheynnis Palacios cinched the 2023 Miss Universe crown in a historic win on Saturday.

Palacios, 23, beat out 83 other women at the pageant in Sal Salvador, El Salvador. It's the first time in history that Nicaragua has won the Miss Universe competition, making Palacios' victory momentous.

R'Bonney Gabriel, last year's winner, and the ninth American to win Miss Universe, appeared onstage to congratulate and crown Palacios.

Palacios has a mass communications degree from the Universidad Centroamericana, which she takes pride in because she had anxiety attacks during her studies, according to her contestant bio.
