And over the past decade, Paradise Valley has become even more popular for <a target="_blank" class href="https://www.businessinsider.com/paradise-valley-arizona-average-resident-millionaire-age-wealthy-homeowner-2024-5">wealthy Californians</a> who are swapping out the West Coast life for large lots and lower taxes in the Arizona wealth enclave.</p><p>Longtime Paradise Valley real-estate agent <a target="_blank" href="https://www.theshackeltongroup.com/">Shawn Shackelton</a> told Business Insider that her clients are typically <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/fortune-100-c-suite-executives-getting-older-trend-study-2023-12">C-suite executives</a>, entrepreneurs, medical professionals, or <a target="_blank" class href="https://www.businessinsider.com/why-scottsdale-is-best-place-to-retire-in-us-2024-6">retirees</a>.</p><p>I visited Paradise Valley for the first time in April to get a taste of the <a target="_blank" class href="https://www.businessinsider.com/scottsdale-paradise-valley-over-the-top-wealth-luxury-2024-6">luxury desert lifestyle</a>.</p>
