- Delta Air Lines will open its new 30,000-square-foot Sky Club lounge at LaGuardia Airport on Saturday.
- The lounge, which will be the airline's biggest, seats 600 and is complete with a full bar and views of the airfield.
Delta Air Lines has made major improvements at New York's LaGuardia Airport.

On Wednesday, the Atlanta-based carrier hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony for its brand new Terminal C at LaGuardia, which officially opened to passengers on Saturday.

The project, which is 80% complete, includes an upgraded departures hall…

…and the highly-anticipated Sky Club lounge. The new lounge is one of the biggest accomplishments of Delta's entire terminal project.

The airline hopes the new lounge will lure premium customers and find new Sky Club members, particularly since LaGuardia is a business hub.

Insider toured the lounge, which opened at 5:00 am on Saturday, ahead of the new Terminal C ribbon-cutting ceremony. Take a look.

The lounge is inside the concourse past the security checkpoint, which is located on level three of the Terminal C Headhouse.

To get there, passengers need to turn left past security and walk just 100 feet to the entrance of the club. You can't miss it.

Standing in front of the entrance, I was immediately drawn in by the beautiful blue backdrop and sliding glass doors...

There are four kiosks available for self-check-in before riding the escalator or elevator up to the lounge.

Inside, Delta has decorated the space with a lot of unique artwork…

For business passengers or families traveling together, there are conference tables that can seat up to eight people.

There is also a long couch-like seat towards the back of the lounge, which was my favorite because of the beautiful blue design and framed photos above.

The huge lounge has several places for grabbing food or drinks, including two drink stations at either end of the space…

The food is made by a local New York chef, but the cook will change from season to season. For the grand opening, dishes will be prepared by Bessou owner Maiko Kyogoku.

There is plenty of space to eat in the dining area.

At the drinks stations, travelers can opt for beverages like coffee, water, juice, or tea…

…or choose a soda from the Coca-Cola Freestyle machine.

If customers want something with a kick, they can head to the bar.
Taylor Rains/Insider
The bar has dozens of different beers, wines, and spirits, many of which are complimentary.
Taylor Rains/Insider
However, they are some premium drinks that are for purchase, and customers have the option to pay with miles.

On the left side of the lounge is a customer service area where travelers can be face-to-face with an agent to help modify a reservation.
Taylor Rains/Insider
Along the back wall is a long panel of windows that overlook the airfield, giving passengers a bird's-eye view of aircraft taxiing, taking off, and landing.
Taylor Rains/Insider
There are plenty of bathrooms in the lounge, which can be opened via a motion sensor…

…as well as nursing rooms for families. There are no showers in the lounge, but LaGuardia also does not serve long-haul flights due to long-standing rules around its operation.
Taylor Rains/Insider
While the lounge is already over 30,000 square feet, it isn't done yet.
Taylor Rains/Insider
By summer 2024, the space will be expanded further to include 120 more seats and a sky deck.
Taylor Rains/Insider
The deck will sit on the roof of the newest concourse, which is currently being renovated.
Taylor Rains/Insider
For now, the end of the lounge is a New York subway-themed room. The sky deck and extra seating will extend from that space once complete.
Taylor Rains/Insider
The Delta Sky Club lounge is only accessible to certain passengers, including Sky Club members, Delta SkyMiles Reserve cardholders, those with a qualifying American Express credit card, and Delta One passengers.
