Scarlett Johansson, Jamie Lee Curtis, and other celebrities are praising Pamela Anderson for going makeup-free
  • Celebrities are applauding Pamela Anderson for going makeup-free at Paris Fashion Week this year.
  • Jamie Lee Curtis said she was impressed by Anderson's "act of courage and rebellion."

Celebrities can't get enough of Pamela Anderson going makeup-free at Paris Fashion Week.

The model, actor, and writer attended a handful of runway shows and events in France last month, and noticeably wore little to no makeup throughout.

Anderson noted on Instagram at the time that she found "beauty in self-acceptance, imperfection, and love."

And now, other celebrities are echoing her statement. In an Instagram post shared on October 1, Jamie Lee Curtis applauded Anderson's choice to ditch makeup for the fashion event.

"THE NATURAL BEAUTY REVOLUTION HAS OFFICIALLY BEGUN!" Curtis wrote. "@pamelaanderson in the middle of fashion week with so many pressures and postures, and and and, this woman showed up and claimed her seat at the table with nothing on her face. I am so impressed and floored by this act of courage and rebellion."

Earlier this week, Scarlett Johansson also weighed in on the now-iconic moment.

Speaking with Popsugar about her skin-care brand The Outset, Johansson pointed to Anderson as a "powerful" example of progress.

"I think it is definitely different to see somebody that's in the public eye, a woman in the public eye, go to a fashion show or big event with no makeup on," she told the publication. "It's a powerful message for women to see that, whether they follow suit or whatever the effect is, in the zeitgeist. It's powerful for women to see other women rejecting standard beauty norms."

Additionally, Gigi Hadid commented "HOT!" on Anderson's Instagram post, Paris Hilton added a heart-eye emoji, and Selma Blair made a note on Curtis' post.

". Love this. Beautiful self assuredness," Blair wrote.

Anderson has previously said that she stopped wearing makeup when her longtime artist and friend Alexis Vogel died of breast cancer in 2019.

But speaking with Vogue during Paris Fashion Week, the style star said it was less of a conscious decision for this specific event.

"I didn't come to Paris Fashion Week and think, 'Oh, I'm not gonna wear any makeup,'" she said in a video on the publication's Instagram. "Something just kind of came over me and I was dressing in these beautiful clothes and I thought, 'I don't wanna compete with the clothes.'"

Anderson continued to say that she's "not trying to be the prettiest girl in the room." Instead, she's seeking "freedom" and "a relief."

"I don't have a stylist. I don't have a glam team. I'm just kind of doing this freestyle," she added.
