Princess Eugenie shared a rare photo of her back scar and encouraged her Instagram followers to share their own for International Scoliosis Awareness Day.
In a new photo posted to Instagram on Sunday, the Queen's granddaughter told fans to "be proud of our scars."
"Today is International Scoliosis Awareness Day. I just wanted to share my scar and encourage anyone out there who's gone through something similar to share theirs with me," Eugenie wrote.
"Let's be proud of our scars! I'd love to repost any of your images on my stories so please tag me and I will share."
Eugenie underwent surgery for the condition, which causes curvature of the spine, when she was just 12 years old.
Speaking about the experience back in 2018, the princess recalled the eight-hour surgery during which "surgeons inserted 8-inch titanium rods" into each side of her spine and "one-and-a-half-inch screws" at the top of her neck.
The 30-year-old has rarely shared photos of her scar before.
However, she was applauded for choosing a wedding dress which showed off the scar in 2018 as a tribute to "the people who looked after me and a way of standing up for young people who also go through this."
"I think you can change the way beauty is, and you can show people your scars and I think it's really special to stand up for that," she told This Morning ahead of her wedding to Jack Brooksbank in October 2018.
