This week, the brand unveiled a striking concept car that previews the sort of quirky, fun, and futuristic designs we should expect from future Mini models.

The Aceman offers a glimpse of a new battery-powered Mini model that will slot between the classic Mini Cooper and the Countryman SUV.

As far as design goes, the Aceman is squat and chunky, featuring flared fenders and bold wheels.

Up front, the Aceman deviates from the traditional Mini formula with angular headlights instead of the classic circular ones.

The roof rack, for example, takes the form of a Union Jack.

As is basically a requirement for new cars these days, the Aceman gets a big central touchscreen and few physical buttons.

But the Aceman's OLED display is circular, which you won't see on other cars.

A modular center console lets the driver reposition storage compartments, cupholders, and a wireless phone charger to fit their needs.

There's a good chance many of these features and designs make their way into the actual production Aceman.

But since this is a concept car after all, Mini had to throw in some outlandish touches.
