A popular tourist attraction didn't exactly meet Kacey Musgraves' expectations during a recent visit.

In a series of Instagram posts on Thursday, the Grammy-winning musician shared photos and videos taken during her visit to the Blue Lagoon, a geothermal spa in Iceland.

The destination — which sees 700,000 visitors every year, according to US News and World Report — is widely known for its steaming waters, mineral face masks, and stunning views. It was even voted the most relaxing tourist attraction in the world by Spa Seekers, a UK-based spa booking agency, this year.

But as Musgraves pointed out, that's not always the case. In videos from her trip, the "Star-Crossed" writer is seen rocking in rough water, trying to hold on to her drink, and getting splashed in the face as the wind picked up.

"Are we having fun?" she captioned the post, which she also shared on TikTok.

On her Instagram story, Musgraves said she "had to" visit the popular site, but she noted that the wind was "brutal."

"Help! This is fun. This is fun," she said in another clip, jokingly trying to convince herself that she was having a good time.

As Insider's Talia Lakritz previously reported, Iceland's Blue Lagoon lives up to the hype for many visitors. She described the experience as a "perfect pick-me-up" after an early flight.

Others on TikTok have also said the spot is worth visiting, especially if you're hoping to take great photos.

But many of those travelers have also warned that the lagoon's mineral water can dry out your hair and leave it feeling brittle.

"The best way to describe it is the feeling of your hair after swimming in the ocean, times 10," Marissa Carlino, an interior designer from New England who visited the Iceland destination, previously told Insider.

"My hair became extremely stiff and the cold air — I think it was about 30 degrees out that morning with very high winds — only made it worse. My hair felt almost gritty, chalky even," she said.

The Blue Lagoon website warns travelers that its water "can leave the hair matted and unmanageable," and recommends using a swim cap or tying your hair in a bun when visiting.

Musgraves hasn't shared if her hair was damaged by the vibrant blue water, though she is seen with her hair tied in a bun throughout her photos and videos.
