  • In a video on his Instagram story, Charles said he's "so glad" that he and Conrad "were able to connect and now laugh at this entire situation."
  • He also poked fun at his previous videos in which he blasted Conrad's beauty brand, and showed what the TV star's liquid highlighters look like "when there's actually product in there."

James Charles and Lauren Conrad appear to be on good terms days after the YouTuber blasted her beauty brand for accidentally sending him a box of empty makeup containers.

On Monday, Charles shared on his Instagram story that Conrad sent him a new box of makeup, this time filled with actual products — not empty samples — from her brand Lauren Conrad Beauty. In his first video, Charles read a handwritten note from the TV star, which said: "Let's try this again! Here are the products from my line. Tube filled and everything!"

"I'm so glad that her and I were able to connect and now laugh at this entire situation," Charles added after reading Conrad's note. "First of all, look at how beautiful this wrapping is. Let's open it up."

Charles then poked fun at his previous Instagram story, in which he showed an empty highlighter tube accidentally sent to him by Conrad.

"Okay you guys, this is what the packaging looks like when there's actually product in there," Charles joked. "Actually though, this is really, really cute. I'm gonna go ahead and swatch the liquid highlighter. Once again, so gorgeous. Oh my god, that's so pretty."

Charles posted his Instagram videos less than one week after he criticized Conrad and her beauty brand on his story. As Insider's Kat Tenbarge previously reported, the YouTuber did not name Conrad in his initial videos, but described the line that sent him empty products as being created by "somebody who has no business having a makeup brand."

He also showed the empty items, which were easily identifiable, in his videos. Charles later apologized to Conrad publicly with a note on his Instagram story, and described the situation as a "misunderstanding."

Conrad also confirmed in an Instagram comment that Charles was referencing her brand, and said she personally sent him the empty samples by accident after placing the products in a bag "to make sure everything would fit inside."

Prior to arguing with Conrad over Instagram, Charles also called out Alicia Keys on Twitter in response to her announcement that she's created a collaboration beauty brand with e.l.f. Cosmetics, despite her being an advocate of the no-makeup movement.

After learning that Keys' brand will focus on skin-care products instead of makeup, Charles apologized to the musician in a note, and said he's not "the gatekeeper of makeup."

Representatives for James Charles and Lauren Conrad did not immediately respond to Insider's requests for comment.
