- A 23-year-old model based in London said her monthly £108 bill from Soho House is totally worth it.
- Amina Karimovna told BI that she joined the members' club to make friends and network.
This as-told-to essay is based on a conversation with 23-year-old UK-based model and marketing professional Amina Karimovna. It has been edited for length and clarity. Business Insider has verified her Soho House membership .
I've been a member of Soho House for a year and a half, and I don't know if I would've made any friends in my new city without it.
I work in the creative industry, and modeling was the main reason I wanted to get a membership. I saw it as a networking opportunity when I first moved to London.
The application process was pretty easy for me because the friend who referred me has been a Soho House member for over seven years. I've visited Soho House locations in Barcelona, Rome, and all over London.
I pay about £108 per month as a member under 27 years old, and I have access to all of the houses worldwide.
It's actually such a good deal. I use the gym facilities on the daily basis, I like using the co-working spaces, and under-27 members get discounts at the restaurant at different times throughout the week.
You get access to so many free events. I've seen one of my favorite artists through its Secret Sounds concerts.

Not all of the events are free, but it has a pretty good set up on the app where you can find out what's going on. There are events for networking, wellness, and some are put on by other members. You can find everything on the app.
It's quite a cool community. I've noticed there's been an influx of younger creatives. I think that changes the atmosphere and the vibe, especially since there usually is a lot of the older group. But, it's not really a negative thing since events tend to filter people based on interests.
A lot of people assume that Soho House — and members' clubs in general — only have snobby people, but you can meet snobby people anywhere. I've personally never had an issue with another member. You have to push past that idea and find your tribe.
I definitely think it's worth it. Even if I was over 27, I would pay the full price for membership because I've met some of my best friends in the city through SoHo House.
Soho House told BI in an official statement that it introduced its under 27 membership in 2007, and "has welcomed multiple generations of emerging creatives, with the intention of providing them a platform to flourish and succeed, both personally and professionally, by connecting with members from all over the world."
