Many travelers seem to agree, choosing to spend their hard-earned PTO exploring this popular European destination.</p><p>In fact, <a target="_blank" class href="https://wttc.org/news-article/travel-and-tourism-injected-215-euros-bn-into-italys-economy#:~:text=Milan%2C%20Italy%3A%20The%20World%20Travel,backbone%20of%20the%20Italian%20economy.">the World Travel & Tourism Council</a> found that tourism and travel contributed 215 billion euros to Italy's economy last year.</p><p>However, after <a target="_blank" class href="https://www.businessinsider.com/best-things-to-do-in-italy-from-couple-vacation-2024-1">visiting Italy</a> over nine times and spending a summer living in Tuscany, I've experienced firsthand that summertime, especially <a target="_blank" class href="https://www.nytimes.com/2023/07/18/world/europe/europe-heat-wave-tourists-travel.html">July through August</a>, tends to be the busiest time to visit the country. </p><p>Here are seven things I wish I'd known before visiting during peak tourist season.</p>
