<p class="ingestion featured-caption">It was difficult to rank them all, but there was still a clear winner in my eyes.Emily Hart</p><ul class="summary-list"><li>I traveled to <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/best-us-states-to-visit-according-to-frequent-traveler">all 50 states</a> solo and ranked them based on my experiences.</li><li>Oklahoma was my least favorite, with California, New Mexico, and Colorado taking the top spots.</li></ul><p>Over the past 10 years, I've made it a goal to travel to all 50 states and each of the major <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/best-unique-national-parks-in-us-according-to-frequent-traveler">national parks</a> completely solo.</p><p>Although I have a few more parks to see, I visited my 50th state last year.</p><p>I've spent at least a day in each state (airport layovers definitely don't count), but I haven't come close to seeing "all" of each state. So, my ranking is based on my limited perspective of my time there.</p><p>When ranking the states, I considered several factors, including my experience as a <a target="_blank" class href="https://www.businessinsider.com/biggest-challenges-for-female-solo-traveler-safety-tips">woman traveling alone</a>, the ease of transport from my home in Colorado, and opportunities for outdoor recreation.</p><p>Although I've enjoyed visiting all 50 states, here's how I'd rank them based on my experiences in each one.</p>
