Chillingham Castle is a 13th-century hotel in Northumberland, England, that's said to be the most haunted castle in the UK, according to its website.

Past visitors have claimed to spot paranormal activity within the grounds, the website states, and the hotel hosts guided ghost tours which are frequently sold out.

Self-catering apartments on the grounds are available to book for groups of between four to seven guests. The rate for four guests for a one-night stay begins at £310, or around $375, according to the website.

Ireland's Kinnitty Castle is a popular wedding destination with an eerie reputation.

Scotland's Barcaldine Castle, also known as the Black Castle, dates back 400 years and is known for its spiral staircases and dungeon, according to the website.

Today, the castle operates as a wedding venue and bed-and-breakfast accommodation.

Some guests believe the castle to be haunted by Donald Campbell, Laird of Barcaldine, who was murdered in the castle by Stewart of Appin during the Massacre of Glencoe in 1692, the website states. In 2013, it was voted the most haunted B&B in a survey conducted by TripAdvisor, according to the website.

Rates for an overnight stay begin at £228, or around $276, according to the website.

Kilkea Castle in County Kildare, Ireland, is a popular location for weddings, golf, and spa weekends. The castle dates back to the 11th century and is said to be haunted by Gerald Fitzgerald, an earl who was known for experimenting with the black arts in the 16th century, according to its brochure.

The castle's 11 bedrooms can be hired individually or exclusively, and there are also self-catering lodges within the grounds. Rates for an overnight stay in the castle start at 144 euros, or around $152, the website states.

Häringe Slott in Sweden is said to be haunted by a crying child.
