Fiat's tiny new electric car has the strangest feature ever
  • Fiat's new electric car has one of the oddest features of any vehicle.
  • The tiny Topolino offers an optional shower for rinsing off after the beach.

Imagine this. You've spent the day sunbathing on the Italian coast and you get up to leave. (It's time for aperitivos.)

You go rinse off your feet in the warm ocean, step back on dry land, and your piglets are sandy once more. You try the old step-directly-into-the-flip-flop technique. But no dice. Disappointed yet composed, you steel yourself for an Aperol Spritz ruined by the uncomfortable friction of sand-encrusted toes.

But then you remember: Your new Fiat microcar has one of the weirdest features on the market — a shower.

That's right. Fiat on Tuesday unveiled the Topolino, an adorable electric vehicle with an optional tiny shower head for rinsing off after the beach. The little two-seater is "ideal for both small seaside villages and the chaotic city center," Fiat said in a press release.

It has a top speed of 45 kilometers per hour (roughly 28 mph), a range of 75 kilometers (46.6 miles), and can be operated by drivers as young as 14 in some European markets. Pricing starts at just 9,890 euros in Italy and France, around $10,800.

The Topolino and microcars like it seem great for quick trips in cities, where fully-grown vehicles are often overkill and inconvenient.

If you're interested in the beachiest vibes possible, the Topolino Dolcevita is the model to get. It comes with a soft top and ropes instead of doors. Other options include luggage that perfectly fits the car's rear rack and seat covers that double as beach towels.
