Tesla CEO Elon Musk announced the electric carmaker will hold a delivery event for the Model S Plaid on June 3.
Musk tweeted that the event will be held at the Fremont Factory in California. The four-door electric sedan will be the fastest production car ever made, according to Musk, who said it can go from 0 to 60 miles per hour in under 2 seconds.

The Model S Plaid will bring a new powertrain, as well as an updated interior and exterior to the car line. The delivery date for the vehicle was initially set for February, but was pushed back due to a global shortage of computer chips.
Last month, Musk told investors at the company's quarterly meeting that pandemic supply chain issues had caused "insane difficulties" for Tesla.
"With respect to the Model S and X, there were more challenges than expected in developing the Model S," Musk said in April.
He cited issues related to developing the car's new battery pack, as well as its top-notch internal electronics. He said the car has a "Playstation 5 level infotainment system."
While Musk said the customer release date will be June 3, Tesla's website on Thursday showed estimated delivery dates for the nearly $115,000 vehicle between August and September.
Musk first announced the souped-up version of the Model S on Battery Day last fall. The car tops out at 200 miles per hour and has a 390 mile battery range. Earlier in the month, the vehicle was spotted on the Laguna Seca raceway. The car reportedly completed a single lap around the over 2 mile course in less than one and a half minutes - setting an unofficial record for the Northern California raceway that has 11 turns.
Tesla plans to release a Model S Plaid+ with a 520 mile range for nearly $150,000 next year.
