But it saves something special for its home market: the Century, an ultra-luxury sedan designed to be chauffeured in. On Wednesday, Toyota unveiled a new Century SUV that looks ready to take on the likes of Bentley and Rolls-Royce.
And this Century, Toyota said, will be available to customers outside Japan. Take a closer look:

Toyota revealed it on Wednesday, announcing a price of around $170,000.

It's bold, chunky, boxy, and bears a striking resemblance to Rolls-Royce's Cullinan SUV.

So despite its hulking size, it only seats four.
The back seats look huge and comfortable, perfect for taking a nap or making business deals.

They also get entertainment screens built into the back of the front seats.
Even though the Century is designed around rear-seat VIPs, its cockpit looks like a pleasant place to spend time too.

Toyota says the new Century is quieter and rides more comfortably than the existing model.
The new Century is a plug-in hybrid with 33 miles of electric-only driving range, Toyota said.

That means drivers can use only electric power while driving around town, and use the full hybrid system for longer trips.
There's even a new "Rear Comfort" mode that helps chauffeurs keep passengers happy.

That feature assists with braking to not jostle rear passengers too much as the car comes to a stop.
Four-wheel steering should help drivers maneuver the humongous Century in tight spaces.

For reference, it's a few inches shorter than a Cadillac Escalade.
A super-wide door opening makes it easy for passengers to enter and exit.
