Beyoncé's new hair care line will have to compete in a market crowded with similar brands from other Black celebrities

  • Beyoncé says her new hair care line, Cécred, will launch on February 20.
  • The line adds to Beyoncé's many business ventures, contributing to her $800 million net worth.

Beyoncé "likes her baby heir with baby hair and afros," she sings on her hit "Formation." Now Queen Bey has created a way for her hive to care for their own baby hairs and afros.

Beyoncé's new hair care line, Cécred (pronounced like "sacred"), is expected to drop on February 20.

She announced the new line on Instagram earlier this week. It wasn't a total surprise. Beyonce first hinted the hair care line may be coming back in May when she posted a carousel of images to Instagram, including one of her getting her hair braided as a child, which shook the internet because of how much she looked like her daughter Blue Ivy.

"How many of ya'll knew my first job was sweeping hair in my mama's salon? Destiny's Child got our start by performing for clients while they were getting their hair done," Beyoncé said in that original post.

The hair care line will be the latest business venture from Mrs. Carter, which combined has earned her an $800 million net worth.

While Beyonce's status as one of the world's most popular artists will likely translate to sales, she is not without competition. Numerous Black celebrities have launched popular hair care products in recent years. Here's a look at some of the biggest.
