A YouTuber's Porsche sports car is one of the many luxury cars stuck on a cargo ship burning in the Atlantic Ocean.
The 650-foot-long Felicity Ace caught fire on its way from Germany to the US on Wednesday and was evacuated by the Portuguese Navy.
All 22 crew members were rescued, but dozens of cars remain on the burning ship in the middle of the ocean.
YouTuber and car enthusiast Matt Farah was the soon-to-be owner of one of the luxury vehicles: a 2022 Porsche 718 Boxster Spyder.
"I had it specced exactly as I wanted it," he wrote on Twitter.
Farah — who reviews cars for his "The Smoking Tire" YouTube channel — said in a statement that a dealer in New Jersey confirmed his car was on the vessel.
"I'm glad no one was hurt in the fire and everyone is safe, which is the most important thing," Farah told Insider. "I'm sure that whatever happens going forward, Porsche will do right by their customers."
A representative from Porsche told Insider that they have been in contact with the shipping company.
"While it remains too early to confirm what occurred and next steps, we are – along with our colleagues at Porsche AG – supporting our customers and our dealers as best we can to find solutions," the representative said in a statement.
Farah got a corporate statement from Porsche on Thursday but said he hasn't heard yet what will happen next.
As of Friday morning, the ship remained at sea near the Azores, according to ship-tracking website Vesselfinder.com.
