A woman spent 14 hours bouncing between three emergency rooms, trying desperately to get a tight ring off her finger. Although she finally managed to get it removed with an electric ring cutter, she said she didn't have buyer's remorse and planned on purchasing the same product again (but in a bigger size).

Jamnice Lashaun documented her agonizing struggle in a TikTok video last month that's been viewed more than 700,000 times. The video featured her traveling through New York City, where she lives, seeking medical help from different medical providers, and all the methods they used to try to get the ring off.

The ring, a $6 steel piece of jewelry from the fast-fashion giant Shein, became stuck on her finger one night in mid-September after she slept with it on, she said. Lashaun told Insider she always kept her jewelry on and didn't think anything of it, even though she could feel the ring tightening throughout the night.

"When I woke up, I felt my left arm feeling tingly and tried pulling the ring off, but I went into panic mode trying to take the ring off, causing my finger to swell up," Lashaun said.

In the TikTok, she showed viewers that the first doctor tried to cut through it with a ring cutter, but that failed. At the next location, she said five doctors attempted several different methods — including using an ice pack to reduce swelling, a ring cutter, and the string method, which involves wrapping a ribbon around the finger and using it to gently ease the ring over the knuckle — to no avail.

"The string method was just way too painful," Lashaun said in the clip. "I even asked if they could numb it, but they couldn't."

The TikToker said those doctors referred her to a specialist, who managed to finally get the ring off by using an electric razor cutter. When the ring fell off, Lashaun said she felt "very relieved and happy."

Despite the painful saga, Lashaun said she wasn't dissuaded from buying the exact same ring again (just in a slightly larger size). If this happens again, she plans on going straight to a specialist or someone with professional tools to cut the ring off safely.

"I'm definitely ordering me a new one because the quality is great," she said. "$6 stainless steel had these doctors in a frenzy."

Many viewers left sympathetic comments and were pleased to know she got the ring off in the end, while others were baffled that she'd risk buying the same ring again.

"She said she's ordering another one yall," one top comment said with a slew of crying emojis.
