- The "Western White House" is a nod to the official White House, featuring an Oval Office replica.
- The California property sits on nearly 3 acres and has 11 bedrooms with 11.5 total bathrooms.
A California home in Lower Hillsborough bears a striking resemblance to the actual White House in Washington, DC.
The property is being sold for $38,900,000, according to the listing site, and has about 24,350 square feet of living space. From the Oval Office to the East Room, the aptly named "Western White House," recreates presidential themes that are similar to the real thing.
George R. Hearst, son of publishing giant William Randolph Hearst commissioned architect Julia Morgan to transform the house into the familiar presidential-style estate. Morgan is well known as the woman behind famous structures that include the historic landmark Hearst Castle and the iconic Neptune Pool. She designed around 700 buildings in her lifetime and made history as the first woman to obtain a California State Architectural License.
The home is back up for sale after less than a year, having most recently belonged to real-estate investor Mehrdad Elie and his wife Neda Elie, according to The Wall Street Journal.
