  • MacKenzie Scott gave two Beverly Hills mansions to a housing charity in September.
  • One of the mansions has been sold for $37 million to a music executive, Dirt reported.

A Beverly Hills mansion donated to a housing charity by MacKenzie Scott has been sold for $37 million, Dirt reported.

The 12,000-square-foot home was one of two properties given to the California Community Foundation by Jeff Bezos's ex-wife in September. The music producer Mike Caren bought the property, according to the report.

The Spanish-style villa has seven bedrooms, seven bathrooms, a greenhouse, a tennis court, swimming pool, four fountains, and a six-car garage.

Bezos and Scott bought the home in 2007 for about $24.5 million. Scott became the sole owner after she and Bezos divorced in 2019.

One of the world's richest women, Scott's fortune mostly stems from her 4% stake in Amazon stake she obtained following their separation. The stake was worth about $38 billion at the time.

Her net worth topped $60 billion when Amazon shares climbed in 2020 but is now worth just under $40 billion, according to Forbes.

It is the second time Scott has assisted the California Community Foundation following her $20 million donation last year to establish the LA Arts Endowment Fund.

Scott pledged to give at least half of her fortune away as part of The Giving Pledge – a campaign set up by Bill Gates and Warren Buffet to encourage extremely wealthy people to contribute a majority of their wealth to philanthropic causes. Bezos recently promised to give most of his wealth away as well.

California Community Foundation didn't immediately respond to a request for comment by Insider.
