13 Sarah J. Maas-inspired Halloween costumes, from the Bat Boys to Manon Blackbeak

  • Sarah J. Maas' books are full of characters who would make for fun Halloween costumes.
  • If you buy a pair of pointed ears, you can likely pull off a Maas-inspired costume with items in your closet.

People go in different directions when picking their Halloween costumes.

You may nod to pop culture with a celebrity-inspired outfit for October 31, wear a fun couples costume with your significant other, or you may dress as one of your favorite characters from a movie or book, like "Harry Potter" fans often do.

And if you love Sarah J. Maas, you're in luck, as her books contain a plethora of characters that are easy to dress as for Halloween.

Maas is the bestselling author of the "Throne of Glass," "A Court of Thorns and Roses," and "Crescent City" series, all of which feature characters with magical powers, like fae and witches. She's set to release the third book in the "Crescent City" series, "House of Flame and Shadow," in January 2024.

Many of her characters have distinct looks, from their hair color to their style, so putting together a costume that looks like something they would wear is easier than you may expect.

Insider rounded up some inspiration for Maas-inspired outfits, turning to cosplayers who have transformed themselves into fan favorites like Aelin Galathynius and Ruhn Danaan.

This article contains some spoilers for Maas' works, so be aware if you haven't finished some of her series.
