As a New Yorker, I've only heard the lore around the famed southern chain, Waffle House.
On a recent road trip through South Carolina and Georgia, I finally got to try it out myself.

Up until a week ago, I had only ever heard about the Waffle House restaurant chain.

I knew people loved it, but I thought it was more of a hometown pride thing than actual good food.

Of course, I had to pay special attention to the waffles. And, in my opinion, they deserve to be in the restaurant's name.

In New York, I always ask if the listed "hash browns" are patty-style or a plate of shredded potatoes. Rarely is it the latter, which is my favorite. So I was pumped for the Waffle House spuds I've seen on social media.
