I tried Ina Garten's recipe for New York strip steaks. The tender, juicy cuts of meat were some of the best I've ever had.

A <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer" class="c-link c-link--focus-visible" href="https://www.usfoods.com/our-services/business-trends/american-dining-out-habits-2023.html">survey</a> of 1,000 Americans by US Foods found the average respondent spent $166 a month eating out.</p><p>So, I was excited to try out <a target="_blank" class href="https://barefootcontessa.com/recipes/grilled-new-york-strip-steaks">Garten's grilled New York strip steak recipe</a>, which cost me just under $30 to make.</p><p>Here's what it was like to try Garten's recipe at home.</p>
