I recently made Ina Garten's "outrageous" garlic bread, and it lived up to its name in the best way.
The recipe includes a whole head of garlic, parmesan cheese, lemon zest, and plenty of butter.
Garten's garlic bread was deliciously crunchy and paired perfectly with her ragu pasta.
When it comes to side dishes, garlic bread has always seemed pretty straightforward. How much can you do with a baguette and some cheese, garlic cloves, and olive oil?
Well, it turns out, quite a lot. Which is what I learned when I made Ina Garten's "outrageous" garlic bread this week.

We begin with the butter - a lot of butter.
You need one-and-a-half sticks of butter for Garten's recipe.

Then it's time to add the garlic.
Garten's recipe also calls for a whole head of garlic.

After 20 minutes were up, I checked on my garlic.
We let the butter and garlic cook for 20 minutes.

While waiting for the garlic to cool, we decided to prep the bread.
We used chopsticks to help score the bread.

Then it was time to make some garlic bread magic happen.
We brushed the garlic mixture onto the bread.

Last but not least was the parsley and cheese.
We topped everything off with plenty of parmesan cheese.

After just six minutes, our "outrageous" garlic bread was ready to go.
The bread looked delicious when it came out of the oven.
