In an attempt to find the best one out there, I tried burger recipes from three celebrity chefs: Ina Garten, Alton Brown, and Bobby Flay.

First I decided to grind my own meat for all three recipes.
One of the recipes required this.

The brown meat is sirloin — don't worry, that color is natural.

Bobby Flay's recipe only called for one kind of meat
Bobby Flay's recipe was also simple.

Though larger than the one I made using Brown's recipe, this burger didn't seem perfect to me.
Bobby Flay's burger was meant to be about 6 ounces.

Garten's recipe required the most ingredients, but it sounded pretty fun.
Ina Garten's recipe required an egg.

My first attempt at Garten's burger was a bit of a fail.
The result was edible, but clearly not what she was going for, so I made it again.

Take two of Garten's burger went much better.
When done right, the mix looked much better.

The darkest patty (top) was my first attempt at Ina Garten's burger.

I also decided to cut up some lettuce, tomato, and red onion.
Bobby Flay's is on the bottom, Alton Brown's is on the right, and the initial Garten burger attempt (obviously) is on top.

I think Flay needs to change his definition of perfect.

Brown is onto something by using two kinds of meat.
This burger had a nice flavor.

The burger wasn't exactly pretty, but it was delicious.
