Check electrical fittings
Let the
electrician do a thorough checking of the electrical connections. Faulty wiring
and damaged connections should be replaced immediately. Electrical switches and
plug points that are exposed to rain need to be covered to avoid rain water
from seeping in. Be careful about the extension cords and multi-plug sockets
during the monsoon as these can lead to short circuit due to overloading.

fungus and stink. Using bamboo mats and moisture-resistant acrylic carpets will
be better options.

Damp-proof wooden cupboards/drawers
The moisture from rain water can also reach your wooden cupboards, causing damage to the clothes and other stuff inside. Don’t forget to keep camphor balls and neem leaves between the folds to keep your clothes safe from silver fish and mould. A few cloves sprinkled between the clothes can also keep insects at bay.
