We know by now that America's health care system is a mess, but it's difficult to comprehend just how inefficient it is.

The following infographic does a great job of that by comparing U.S. health care to other countries and then breaking down America's issues.

"The tragedy," according to Dr. Steven Woolf, Director of Human Needs at VCU, "is not that the United States is losing a contest with other countries but that Americans are dying and suffering from illness and injury at rates that are demonstrably unnecessary."
