The top 10 tourist attractions in India, according to TripAdvisor

After revealing the winners of its Travelers' Choice Awards in the landmarks category, highlighting the top 10 tourists attractions in the world, travel planning and booking site TripAdvisor has now announced the top 10 tourist destinations in India.

As part of its Travelers Choice Awards in the Landmarks category, the winners were determined using an algorithm which took into account the quantity and quality of reviews and ratings for landmarks, gathered over a 12-month period.

The list of winners has some obvious inclusions and some surprises, as well. For example, no tourist attraction from South India makes the cut, while the Taj Mahal tops the lists for best landmarks in India. No surprises there! Incidentally, the Taj Mahal was also ranked as the fifth most loved tourist attraction in the world.
