Peter Clinkscales, left of Hillary Clinton.

The sticker-wearing college student who stole the thunder from Hillary Clinton's Iowa caucus speech Monday night wasn't actually there to support the candidate - or any candidate.

Drake University student Peter Clinkscales was just there to see a presidential candidate on campus.

"I saw that a presidential candidate was going to be at my university and I thought that I should go see that presidential candidate at my university," Clinkscales, who's still undecided about who he's supporting in the presidential election, told Mashable early Tuesday morning.

With stickers hanging for dear life to his face, Clinkscales made some crazy mouth contortions.

He would later follow that up with some interesting dance moves.

He made such an impression that social media went nuts over him, nicknaming him "#stickerkid" and "#stickerboy," and causing him to trend on Twitter - to his delight.

But in fact, he had much bigger plans for the night.

"We thought it would be a great idea if we brought two saxophones here to the rally for Hillary Clinton so he could play one and he could play one," he said of the plan, referring to a friend in a jazz band. But he was told it was a security risk. "It would be a cool mash-up."
