National Hydro Power Corp rose for the second day on Thursday after the company was successful in restoring power production at one of its units in the mountainous region of Jammu & Kashmir.

NHPC said its 3rd unit at Chutak Hydro-electric Project in Kargil district had begun generating power to the extent of 11 mega watts. Chutak is a run-off-the-river project made on Suru tributary of the Indus River. It has 4 units of 11 megawatts each.
