Choosing the right sunglasses can be a challenge, but there are some iconic styles that suit every face shape.

Business Insider caught up with Hugo Taylor and Charlie Morris, the founders of the Taylor Morris sunglasses brand, to chat about how to find the right frame.

According to Taylor, "Every man should have a pair of Steve McQueen Persols. That frame has been with them for around 40 years and it suits everyone."

Morris agreed, adding that the Wayfarer shape is also "super classic."

"It looks great on both male and female," he said. "Everyone also loves an aviator - I'm not the biggest fan, but it does suit most face shapes."

Morris said the brand to watch out for is the "up-and-coming" Garrett Leight, while Taylor is a fan of the Korean label Gentle Monster. "They're really out there," he said. "They have embroidery on the arms and are finding new techniques I've never seen."

The duo are well placed to provide fashion advice.

Taylor originally gained fame as an uber-stylish cast member of reality TV show Made in Chelsea, and their Taylor Morris label, already a top 10 sunglasses brand at Harvey Nichols, has just launched into Bloomingdales.

The pair were also recently dressed by Ralph Lauren, their favourite designer, for a Tatler party.

"I literally only wear stuff from Ralph Lauren or Belstaff," Taylor said. "It's the law of attraction - I can't tell you how many times in an interview we've said we love Ralph Lauren, and three years in, 'Hey guys, it's Ralph Lauren. Come to the store, pick whatever you want.'"

Morris describes their style as "classically inspired with a modern twist."

"We're quite classy guys," he said. "If we go out to a party, we'll wear a classic suit, but jazz it up with something a bit different like jewellery."

"At a wedding, we'll look really respectable until the parents have gone to bed, then afterwards we're the last ones to go to sleep," Taylor added.

However, while they like to add an edge to their look, the business partners agreed there are many mistakes a man can make when putting together an outfit.

"Never wear a bold stripe shirt with a pattern tie," Taylor said. "And you can wear a black shirt, but not with a tie."

Morris added that men should "never wear the same tie and pocket handkerchief if it's the same pattern."

To keep things simple, Taylor suggested that men should "find something you like and just buy it in every different version."

"It's like when Obama said he wears the same thing every day because it's one less choice to make," Taylor said. He has nine different black leather jackets, while Morris' go to item is the suede jacket.

"I find that a lot of people, like Simon Cowell and Victoria Beckham, do it - they wear a variation of the same thing every day," Taylor said. "Anna Wintour, you'll notice, only owns one pair of sunglasses."

While Taylor wears a number of frames from the Taylor Morris brand, Morris applies Wintour's strategy.

"I own a sunglasses brand and I like wearing one frame, which is called the George Arthur after both of our middle names," he said. "It's our iconic frame."
