The new CES 'booth babes' never get tired walking treadmills to demo fitness tech

The "booth babe" at the annual Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas is a time-honored and often mocked tradition. Basically, it involves having an attractive woman standing at your booth to lure in passersby.

While we still saw some booth babes this year while strolling the show floor, the practice seems to have fallen out of fashion.

There is, however, a new kind of booth babe being pioneered particularly by fitness tech companies. This new booth babe is a fit man or woman, in athletic clothing, who stands at the booth and endlessly demonstrates the product.

These fit models serve a similar function as the traditional booth babe - drawing in people walking by. And, like their predecessors, they also seem to (most times) have been chosen for their attractiveness. In addition to good looks though, these models must be in top-notch shape in order to provide non-stop demonstrations of new gadgets that track workouts, heart rates and burned calories.

Whereas booth babes are on the decline, these product demonstrators are definitely on the rise. Here are some photos we snapped on the show room floors:
