The most devastating earthquakes of the last decade and how they changed the planet’s geography

As a powerful earthquake of 7.6 magnitude hit Afghanistan, Pakistan and part of north India yesterday, more than 200 people were left dead and many more injured and missing. If one looks at earth’s history, natural disasters have claimed the lives of millions of people over the years, so much so that one of the theories of extinction of dinosaurs is a massive megathrust in its tectonic plates.
