Put your hands up if you secretly wished Anushka Sharma to be the lead actress in Aditya Chopra’s upcoming movie Befikre. After this heart-warming video in which Ranveer Singh announced himself as the lead actor of the movie, the only name that came to our minds was that of Anushka Sharma. We earlier saw this adorable pair together in Band Baaja Baraat, a Yash Raj movie, and were somehow convinced that Aditya Chopra would cast them together, which he did in Ladies Vs Ricky Bahl, further upping our hopes. The rumors of this pairing started doing rounds once again when Aditya announced Befikre on Facebook and everyone felt that these two actors make a perfect fit for this upcoming movie.

Agreed?

However, the casting department of Yash Raj films didn’t feel the same, which is why they chose Shuddh Desi Romance fame Vaani Kapoor as the leading lady opposite Singh.

Kapoor, who did a Tamil film after SDR, which was a remake of Band Baaja Baraat, announced her selection in the same way as Ranveer. In a video shared by Yash Raj Films on YouTube, she can be seen talking about life after SDR and how Aditya Chopra believed enough in her to cast her in his next directorial venture.

Here is the video.

Let’s hope that Chopra is able to create the magic that he is known for, with a relatively unknown actress who despite winning a good number of newcomer awards, faded away from the screen for more than 2 years.
