The latest Chipotle health scare has expanded to another restaurant chain

The investigation into illnesses tied to a Los Angeles Chipotle is expanding.

Health officials are now investigating the restaurant next door to the Chipotle on West Pico Boulevard, called PizzaRev, the Los Angeles health department told Business Insider.

"An investigation is also ongoing at PizzaRev (next door to Chipotle)," the health department said. "Some staff worked at both locations and there were reports of illness there. Both establishments are currently open and have been cooperating with the ongoing investigation."

Officials have not yet determined the cause of the illnesses.

"As of yet a specific food item or condition has not been implicated as the cause of infection," the Los Angeles health department said in an emailed statement.

So far, officials have identified fewer than 40 sick customers and employees of the Chipotle located on West Pico Boulevard in Los Angeles, the agency said.
